Gourdacious Gourds: Magnificent Magnetic Flower Vases
               Instructor: Shelley Fletcher
               Date: June 29, 2011 3:30PM-5PM
Description: An opening is made in a 4” gourd to insert a ‘water tube’ for a fresh flower.
The back is flattened slightly so a magnet can be glued onto it.  The young artist
will paint the vase using acrylic paints with a brush or sponge.  Embellishments
will be added along with water and a flower.  It makes a perfect refrigerator art work!
               Cost: $10

Gourdacious Gourds: Beautiful Birdhouses
               Instructor: Shelley Fletcher
               Date: July 6, 2011 3:30PM-5PM
Description: Prepared bottle gourds will be painted by the students.  Each gourd
will have either an opening for a birdhouse or larger openings for use as a birdfeeder.
They will be outfitted with a leather hanger for inside decoration or outside use with
a feathered friend.  Birds love using gourds as houses or snack bars for birdseed!

are available to inspire imagination.  Gourd animals always have 3 legs so they
can stand perfectly!  They can have big eyes, long tails, fins or freckles.  We never
know what kinds of gourdimals will be created until young artists ‘see’ the shapes
               and start creating.
